The beef production calendar is a management tool for producers to help them in scheduling practices pertaining to the cow herd over a twelve-month period. The calendar is based on a late March calving beef herd. The calendar addresses three categories:

-General Management Practices

-Feeding Management

-Herd Health.

Beef Quality Assurance is a nationally coordinated, state implemented program that provides systematic information to U.S. beef producers and beef consumers of how common sense husbandry techniques can be coupled with accepted scientific knowledge to raise cattle under optimum management and environmental conditions. The Nebraska Beef Council receives its funding from the $1 per head beef checkoff paid by Nebraska beef producers. Those dollars are invested in research, promotion, consumer information, industry information, foreign marketing and producer communication, all with the purpose of strengthening demand for beef & veal in domestic and foreign markets.
